[monit] How to specify user name and password for mail server?

Hello,

I am trying to configure my mail server for monit but I don't know the
proper syntax. I currently have it setup the following way:


set mailserver localhost


... and with that configuration I get this error when I try to
validate my configuration:


Sendmail error: 571 Remote sending only allowed with authentication!
Alert handler failed, retry scheduled for next cycle


I tried to set my user name and password via user:address@hidden but
that didn't seem to work either because it tried to resolve my user
name as a host rather than using it as a user name and password
configuration.

How do I set my user name and password to be used with my mail server
with the /etc/monitrc file?
