[monit] 4.10.1 segfaults?

I built 4.10.1 with:
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
and it build and installed just fine. Monit starts up long enough for the init
script to return OK, then it segfaults.
I do not have CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS set during ./configure or compile.
Any ideas on wtf is going on?
