I have a quite similar problem. I've started the torrent and everything normal
it downloaded till 15% then it stopped. (i checked with a different tool to
ensure that the file was completely available) waitend at least 24 hours, 
nothing
happend. I thought it was because the upload queue was full with client from
ed2k or ov. so i disabled both of them and I have only bT running on my
mldonkey, but the still no uploads to bT (no uploads at all).
canceled the download, started again. stopped again 25%! waited 12 more hours
and cancelled it and tried another .torrent file and it happened again!
the funny thing about this, that i have already downloaded a few other files
via bT in mldonkey sucessfully.
I'm switching now to the normal bT client until bT support is better in
mldonkey.

im using stable 2.5

But mldonkey is a great tool! Keep up the good work, all of you
