[Mldonkey-users] Problems with mldonkey in local network

Subject: [Mldonkey-users] Problems with mldonkey in local network

In the past (v 1.x) i used a LAN with IP-addr range of 192.168.0.* to
synchronize
2 different donkey databases without having connect to the internet.
The server (ole off. win32 donkey server) was also running in the LAN.
Both clients did only have the local server in their server-list.

It did not fully work, but the mldonkey (v 1.15 i think) was able to get all
missing chunks from an official, but not vice versa.

Now i tried to do this again (with a mldonkey v2.02-16) :
Now not even the mldonkey client was able to get chunks from the official ..

Server connects seem to work, the server shows 2 connected clients and the right
sum of shared files.
File searching was able from both clients too, they can see all files in the
shared pool.

If the official client (v61 i guess, not a hybrid version) tries to connect, it
looks like it won't get a response, and after some times it gave up connecting.
I turned on all debug messages but i was not able to find a message related to
a connecting client. Does mldonkey maybe filter local addresses ?

But with the current version, mldonkey was also not able to download from the
other client in the LAN, if I do a 'vd <num>' it just shows 0 sources, i tried
it over about 10 mins (with default options).

Can some other mldonkey users try to verify this behaviour and maybe the coders
can try to run their test clients in a LAN ?

Thanks

Robert
