If you really need to change the value (i have german DSL too and
might also need to change it), go to
../mldonkey/net/tcpBufferedSocket.ml and change line 72...

let mtu_packet_size = ref 1500

...to whatever you like.

But still the question to mldonkey remains if it will do any harm if
you let the MTU fixed at 1500 with german DSL (and fragmentation of
packets IS harmful, isn't it?).

btw: What was the MTU of mldonkey before? I forgot to check before
the cvs-checkout.
