Well, python build system is quite resilent to crosscompiling. Two kind of 
issues affect us, using mingw in windows and accepting crosscompilation in 
linux. You can find many reports with patches about both at the pyhon 
bugtracker. But python maintainers are also quite resilent to accepting 
changes. They don't accept small incremental patches if they don't fix a big 
issue and about big patches that fix the issue are too big to be reviewed on 
time, and they got old and unappliable.

Gladly, Ray Donnelly had recent success on getting a set of working patches 
(as part of the mingw-ndk port) and he is eager for his port to be reviewed, 
so you can help on that.
