Subject: Lynx under VMS
Hello
My name is Mr Clair Wilson. I work at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre,
Pa. I am trying to make lynx 2-8 work on an Alpha computer which is
using VMS. Lynx initializes ok and can acess any site. However, I cannot
seem to make Lynx access the lynx.cfg file. Therefore, I cannot print,
since printing is controlled by the PRINTER statements which are in
lynx.cfg.
My lynx.cfg file is in my directory(sys$login), which is dua330:[clair].
The 2 logicals Lynx_Dir and LYNX_CFG_FILE are set in login.com as
follows :
$ define/job Lynx_Dir dua330:[sys$login]
$ define/job LYNX_CFG_FILE DUA330:[CLAIR]LYNX.CFG
The sho log Lynx_Dir
and sho log LYNX_CFG_FILE both look ok to me. Here is the result of
executing those commands :
HNAB$ sho log Lynx_Dir
"LYNX_DIR" = "DUA330:[SYS$LOGIN]" (LNM$JOB_819EB000)
HNAB$ sho log LYNX_CFG_FILE
"LYNX_CFG_FILE" = "DUA330:[CLAIR]LYNX.CFG" (LNM$JOB_819EB000)
HNAB$
Apparently Lynx does not see DUA330:[CLAIR]LYNX.CFG. I have no idea why.
Does anyone see what it is that I am doing wrong?
Can anyone see something that I am doing incorrectly ? Any help would be
much appreciated.
