First question, do you have a PPP or local ethernet connection?  Unable
to access page often means no network is reachable.

Second, can you try to start a local file instead of a remote page?
I forget the syntax, but c:\\dir\page.html might work.  Bringing up
the lynx help pages locally should work, as well.
