Indeed! Your observation is exactly correct. The interesting thing
is that my old version of Lynx (2.3.7BETA) does not exhibit this
behavior and works fine with www.microsoft.com! However, ping and
telnet do not work.
Any idea where I can find the necessary patch (100890)? I checked out
on sunsite.unc.edu but since this patch contains encryption code, its
not exportable and therefore not available (only the international
version is out there).
