there is an issue with the timeout lists on the FreeRTOS port (which 
seems to be the mother of all FreeRTSO-related examples out there...). 
You have to fix your sys_thread_new() function. Please see bug #30889 
details for solving those problems with the timeout lists for the 
FreeRTOS port.

@Simon: Can you (or another admin) please add the sugested fix from this 
bug to the FreeRTOS port in contrib?! I know, it is no core problem, but 
it seems that there are a lot of people outside using this (buggy) port.
