Unless you want support for that, it is: the reason is that noone on this list
can help you much when mixing code as problems that may arise might be provoked
by mixing these versions.

Yes, the win32 port in contrib can use PPP with NO_SYS==1. It's a bit confusing
as it has many ifdefs for different configurations, but it works.

Well, I hope it's still as stable as I will be shipping it in my product, but
of course you can never be sure... My hope is that many users will test the
release candidates. And of course, I will be fixing bugs (if any:) and 1.4.1
will be release if they are grave.
