As currently we have no tar file available from the Savannah CVS repository
I was planning to create one tomorrow.

I would like to define a tagging scheme for (snapshot) releases.

Suggestion:

"STABLE_0-6-0" for stable release 0.6.0
"SNAPSHOT_0-5-4" for a snapshot release 0.5.4

Feedback appreciated:

Maybe use UNSTABLE instead of SNAPSHOT???

Maybe use "STABLE-0_6_0"???? (Note the reverse use of underscore/dash).

Unless someone disagrees by tomorrow, I plan to proceed with my suggestion,
and tag the tree with "SNAPSHOT_0-5-4", and tar.gz that set.
