Yes, I did use the web interface because I didn't want to clone Cygwin
repository that I didn't need otherwise, so this time I used the search box
and then the "blame" link in the web UI. Locally I would have done exactly
the same when searching for a change in an unfamiliar project, i.e. "git
grep" to find the relevant file and then "git blame" to find out when did
this change happen (except that I'm still half lying because I'd actually
use vim-fugitive plugin instead of running "git blame", it's probably not
worth to start using Vim just because of this plugin existence, but if you
live and breathe Vim anyhow as I do, it's a much more comfortable
experience than using "raw" git blame).
