I don't have such a file, but I do have
/data/data/org.linphone/files/linphonerc
and as mentioned in my message, the problem is that this file is
re-created (presumably extracted from the .apk file) every time the
application is launched (and IIUC this is the case for all files in
/data/data/<appname>/files).
