Re: [Linphone-users] Google Voice SIP

I think google can do it and get the profit, as it would probably be done in a way that advertisers could actually call and solicit to you, especially since most companies spend more on advertisment than they spend on making a product for the customer.  My whole thing is that I feel google is treading a thin line as mobile phone companies and phone companies in general are aware of the power of sip/voip and don't want customers to learn about such technology, as most customers would probably leave there phone companies or reduce there plans if they knew sip/voip could save them ridiculous amounts of money per year, especially, in a world economy right now, where everyone is trying to cut back to save for only there necessities and not wants.

Right now I think google will not implement a fully capable sip/voip in google voice, until they know for certain that they can lock it down or downgrade it so that users aren't able to circumvent phone companies and mobile carriers that way, mobile carries and phone companies won't block google voice on there network, I mean I think for sure that if Verizon knew that the only reason users wanted google voice on there verzion cell phones was b/c of free text messages and free calling, Verizon would block the ip or port or what ever they had to stop users from using google voice on there Verizon cell phones, look they block skype like crazy and when a skype app was allowed to put on cell phones they seriously had to downgrade it, so that users couldn't enable a way to make free calls through just a data plan, which i feel should be allowed.

People shouldn't have to be tricked into accepting a high cost plan when they have the ability to just pay for data, and get free calling through google voice and free text messages, which can help anyone now save money in a crazy and volatile economy.

I don't see Google doing something long term not related to profit.
