Subject: [Linphone-users] no sound after linephone connected with alsa driver

Hi,

I have a Redhat 9.0 and Creative Labs Soundblaster 16 PCI sound card.
The linphone and sipomatic works fine with both linux PCs. These two
Linux PCs are connect over ethernet and are able to connect through the
linphone 0.12.0. I am able to hear the dial tone on both sides, but no voice
after connected.

I tried to build the ALSA driver for this Creative Labs Soundblaster 16 PC sound card
from the http://www.alsa-project.org, and here is the link to build the ALSA driver for
the Creative Labs Soundblaster 16 PCI sound card.

http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php3?company=Creative+Labs&card=Soundblaster+16+PCI&chip=ES1373&module=ens1371

I saw a "modprobe" error while building the ALSA utils.

Here is the error with "/sbin/modprobe snd-ens1371"

address@hidden alsa-utils-0.9.7]# /sbin/modprobe snd-ens1371
/lib/modules/2.4.20-6/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-6/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o:
insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-6/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-6/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.o:
insmod snd-ens1371 failed

Does anyone know what is the problem?

Thanks,

FrankC
