Message size limit

Hi,

We've been informed that the size of messages to this list containing large attachments is occasionally clogging up the GNU list server's mail delivery queue, causing distribution delays (not just for this list, but for everyone on the hundreds of other gnu.org lists).

To avoid this, your friendly list admins have configured a max message size of 512KB. If you send a message larger than this, it will come back to you after a while, with a reminder that you should trim its size. If you need to send a file larger than the limit, please use a file sharing service and send the URL only.

(Note that statistically, over the past few years, fewer than 1% of messages were larger than 512KB.)
