I don't speak for everyone, but I think plain text messages are
preferred; therefore pictures as attachments would be the best bet.
I tend to agree in most cases. In line pics make for more convenience for
the reader. The question is more difficult
to ask referring to attachments. The casual
reader that may know the answer may not bother to read and open the attachments.
The question I asked was short and explained
with two pics. I received a quick and complete
response. (A pic is worth ten thousand words.)
