First and foremost, *I* am not in a position to change anything with the programming. But any problems you encounter will certainly help the people who do the programming to make the end-user experience better.

Having read your other email, as I understand it, you downloaded a script and then didn't know what to do with it. I can understand that. If that's all you did, then I can't understand your problem.

On the website, there are 5 different ways of getting LilyPond to work on OSX 10.5. You tried one of them, the intermediate one, which explicitly states that experience with Terminal is recommended. Okay, there are three other methods listed as being either easy or easiest, and appropriate for all users. What problems did you encounter with those?

Personally, I would attribute the lack of a functioning lilypond on your computer to your inexperience with the method you tried, and if that were the only method, I would certainly take tons of time to diagnose exactly how your system is configured, and how to solve you problems. However, there are at least three other methods avaiable, all of which are more likely easier and better able to suit your needs currently and in the future for progress with LilyPond, so before I spend the time trying to figure out how your computer is set up, and teach you enough to be able to use the Terminal well, I'd suggest using a method that people with far more experience with the Terminal actually use.

To that end, please: try the other methods described and then let us know if you have any problems.

And lastly, please, please, please, add the lilypond-user mailing list in any correspondence with a mailing list. I may be a person who can help you, but I am not all-knowing, there are others here with far more ability than I, who may have more time than I, who can help you far better than I.

If you really WANT that information to solve the problem, I'd be happy to give you whatever information you want. Just let me know the details and it's yours! The least I could do for the terrific assistance and I'm delighted to assist such a great project.
