I think the CRAN mirrors are being slow as I only could install the new 0.6 package from your website. The maximum version that the UK mirrors had was 5.4 and with no igraph0 package. Going to play with "eccentricity" now as it sounds interesting!

Only for the R version. The C core and the Python interface have always used zero-based indexing and will keep on doing so. The R interface uses 1-based indexing from 0.6 to make it consistent with the rest of R. To ease the transition, the igraph0 package in R keeps the 0-based indexing.
