[igraph] Looking for hubs in a network?

Dear developers,

This question just came up on top of my head. Is there any algorithms 
that assign a hub score to nodes in a community structure?
For example, if identified with a community structure, certain nodes in 
the communities may be essential that contain more inter-community edges
than the others. These nodes are also very important for overall 
connectivity. Identifying these hubs will also aid the understanding of the
community structure.

Are there any publications on this kind of 'hub score'?
