Thanks for suggestions. I have been experimenting with addpath, and have
resolved my immediate problem. However, I am wondering if there is a limit
to the string length that addpath can accept. I seem to be finding that
addpath(genpath(xyz)) doesn't work if the path created by genpath with all
subdirectories of xyz is very long.
