As part of GNU, Octave isn't really open source. It's free software:

Also, the antonym of free software isn't commercial software. There's
lots of free commercial software (Red Hat is one of the examples most
people know about). The antonym of free software is proprietary
software.

OK, ok... I admit... I was a bit sloppy in my terminology... but hey, English is not my native language... I just thought it would be fun to see some Octave people at Cody's top ranked positions :-)
