Unfortuantely  none of the proposed solutions are a fix for the plot Window hanging in my situation. It seems to me that the proposed changes (Oct2Mat, ginput, etc) just adjust the timing such that the circumstances surrounding the error change sufficiently to make it work some of the time.

In my situation, I have 3 computers configured to use Octave to analyze several sets of images (10-20 sets at a time). Each set of images is analyzed sequentially with a new instance of Octave. Invariably, one of the analysis will hang when generating the plot window.  ON my development machine, the analysis “almost” never fails and it has Oct2Mat enabled. On the other two production machines (both identical and slightly faster computers), I will get a failure at least once in every set of images processed (several times a day). Both of these machines have Oct2Mat disabled and have been patched to add a delay in one of the routines (per an earlier email recommendation).

In the short term, I have disabled plotting the data but this isn’t a great long term solution as I would like to generate the report that includes the plots.

Any other thoughts on how to troubleshoot this problem.

Ian
