I am running Ubuntu 9.10 I tried to load the latest octave -- octave3.2.2 from the ubuntu synaptic Package manager.
part way through it produced this error message: error while loading shared libraries: libumfpack.so.3.2.0: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory.
I looked around to fined this file and found that my system has libumfpack5.4.0 instaled.
