"pkg" command not found

Hello,

I am trying to install extra packages from Octave-Forge on Linux (kernel 
2.6.9-42.ELsmp).  However, Octave does not recognize the command "pkg".  
I get a syntax error on "pkg" and "help pkg" returns "help: sorry, 'pkg' 
is not documented".

Does anyone know what I need to do to get "pkg" to work?
