Hm, I am not sure that the relative order of 'eopen' and 'eglobspar'
matters. I use 'eglobspar' first because in principle I prefer
declaring globar variables first.
But I am reasonably sure that you should 'eopen' BEFORE changing any
globar variables, as 'eopen' initialises them to default values.
Unfortunately, I could not remember this on first attempt...
