help--octave installation problem

Does anyone have this problem before?
I downloaded octave3.0.3 and run ./configure , then it failed with :
configure: WARNING: I need GNU Readline 4.2 or later
configure: error: this is fatal unless you specify --disable-readline

I downloaded the latest version of gnu readline lib and it is still there.
