A screencast showing a 2 node virtual cluster running under VMware is
available at http://pareto.uab.es/mcreel/ParallelKnoppix/PK_vmware.oggThis example shows Octave and MPITB used to do parallel kernel density
fits to univariate and bivariate data. If you look carefully, you can
see that it starts at 13:46 and ends at 13:49. The virtual master and
compute nodes are both resumed from suspended state, so it's really
fast to get to work. A virtual cluster is a nice way to debug parallel
programs. The virtual master node can be used to PXE boot real compute
nodes, too, once the code is ready for use.
