You can start here:
http://www.octave.org/doc/octave_18.html#SEC134

We'll need more information about your configuration (octave ver., os, etc.) and the error messages to be able to help further.

Subject: Please help

Hi, I am new..

And have some problems of a typical beginner…

It is easy to plot from gnuplot: splot sin(x)*cos(y)
But the same example from octave (gsplot..) results in errormessages..
Does somebody have an example for me?

Another question: How can I unset parametric from Octave?

Where can I find good examples for plotting?

Is it possible to use filenames for saved plotfiles which include e.g. the present date or time?

(e.g. plotfile_2004_05_25_19_35.emf    or so..)

Thanks
Martin
