This probably means that you don't have the program 'djpeg'
installed, which is required for readjpg to work. Under the Debian
Linux distribution, this program is provided by the package
'libjpeg-progs'.

# error: 'scl' undefined near line 52 column 14 ... in writeppm.m
Try the 'writeppm' function attached to this mail; this should fix
showppm too.
