3-d plotting in octave

Hi, 
can you tell me if there is an octave version of the matlab 
function VIEW(THETA,PHI) which changes the orientation of the axis 
for a 3-d plot? I'm stuck with one view and can't see what i want to.
also, how can i change the colormap of the 3-d plot?
