Help please,
Has anybody had success with octave on Mandrake 7.0.
* I forst tried the octave-2.0.13 in rpm form available from the Redhat
contrib area. It installs fine but core dumps as soon as it invokes. I
guess there is a library prob.
* then trid the binary dist from che.wisc.edu in tar.gz form. Does much
of the same thing.
* decided to try to build it myself. I downloaded octave-2.0.16.
./configure is happy. The make gets pretty near the end of process until
it starts to report
octave.o: In function `intern_argv(int, char **)':
/usr/local/include/stl_alloc.h:382: undefined reference to
`__default_alloc_template<true, 0>::__node_allocato
r_lock' /usr/local/include/stl_alloc.h:431: undefined reference to
`__default_alloc_template<true, 0>::free_list'
/usr/local/include/stl_alloc.h:432: undefined reference to
`__default_alloc_template<true, 0>::free_list'
It does this many times. Any help would be much appreciated. Better
still would be a pointer to a binary rpm.
Many thanks
