Hi Vivek, 

It actually has been discussed some time in the last few months.   You
probably just missed the archive so I'll go over what I remember.   

It is possible to do this.   I believe you can link with liboctave and
libcruft without to much trouble.   If you try to link with
liboctinterp  you will run into trouble if you do not also link with
libreadline.   jwe said he would like to get rid of these references in
liboctinterp but it has not been done.  

I have not actually done this I only remember the discussion.   If you
want to view the original discussion go to the articles in the archive
with the subject 'Using Octave from C++'
