I will only be adding ATLAS to the development sources. I consider
the stable sources to be pretty much dead unless someone wants to
volunteer to maintain them, but that seems unlikely. I sent the
following to the octave-maintainers mailing list and received no
replies.
Would anyone like to volunteer to maintain the stable version of
Octave?
This would require applying fixes that have been made to the current
development sources (but only those that fix serious bugs or other
truly annoying problems that are not too hard to fix). It means being
able to extract patches from the CVS archive, or by looking at diffs
from the bleeding-edge releases and then adapting them so they will
work with the 2.0.x sources. You must be careful to err on the side
of stability. If a change only adds a new feature, or is so large
that it is likely to cause more problems than it solves, you have to
be able to skip it.
I am asking for a volunteer to take over this job because I no longer
can afford the time it takes to do this work myself, except for the
most serious of bugs (i.e., Octave won't work at all, or crashes for
reasonable input).
