Do you mean two dimensional matrices? It seems so, since you don't
say that a scalar is just a 1x1x1x ... x1 matrix.
Sure, lots of things can be forced into the `everything is a matrix'
view of the world. I suppose if all you have is a hammer, everything
looks like a nail. Personally, I prefer a wider selection of tools in
my toolbox.
