A few suggestions:
- Manually edit the bounding box in your postscript file
- Try with a more recent gnuplot - gnuplot 3.7 exists.
gnuplot 3.6 is a very poorly defined concept - it was gradually
changing for years
- Does gset lmargin <some integer> help ?
- Approach the gnuplot news group comp.graphics.apps.gnuplot
