Attached proof-of-concept works fine on xterm and urxvt, but makes
a mess on Xfce Terminal (and probably any other VTE-based terminal).

Now I remember why I avoided adding a configurable color for the
scrollbar.  :|  It seems to be a bug in VTE, but I don't know how
to work around it.
