I have a DEC VT100 term connected to the ttya port of my test x86 unit.
I can use GRUB legacy ( booted via pxeboot ) to load my core.img thus :

That was loaded from the first ext2 filesystem on a USB Kingston thumb drive.

GRUB2 then boots and I see it on my monitor on the same machine :

Note that the grub.cfg seems to be ignored because nothign is listed
in the menu.

I specified both serial and terminal in the grub.cfg but this seems to
have no effect.

The modules loaded are thus :

Note that despite having the UFS module I can not recognize the UFS
filesystem on the hard disk :

Solaris Nevada is installed on that local hard disk but GRUB2 seems unable
to see this.

What is required to read that UFS filesystem correctly?  The GRUB legacy
bootloader provided with Solaris Nevada seems very able to read UFS
filesystems but GRUB2 currently does not.  Or is the partition table
format a potential issue here?

One problem at a time I suppose .. what is the trick to get the serial ttya
port to work as opoposed to needing a monitor connected ?
