There has been a similar request already, namely to mix man pages
written with `man' and `mandoc'. Maybe I will try to handle this very
special case.
In general, what you suggest is not possible IMHO. Consider material
collected in diversions (endnotes, index and bibliographic entries,
etc.) -- when shall they be output? What about global typesetting
parameters? If at all, such a macro change can only happen at a page
boundary, but then it is *much* easier to have a script which
concatenates the output of various groff runs.
