I agree completely.  I'm afraid I expressed myself badly.  What I meant
was that I'd like to avoid the situation where _newcomers_ to groff
trying out mom have to rely on primitives in order to get mom to
perform, especially at the top of files.  It's the newbie psychology
I'm concerned with here.
