1) cvs log GNUnet-docs/papers/whitepaper/main.tex (clearly all significant
changes were made before Nov. 1st 2001). A talk about the system was given
at PLUG in November 2001 including the trust system. All records were public
at that point, and while I don't have a copy of the old webpage, the CVS
records should suffice. The CS department has (monthly) backups for the last
10 years, so we can put a timestamp on those files if needed -- but I doubt
that we'll need them, since there is:
2) The patent talks about agents and micropayments. It thus seems to describe
MojoNation / MNet / HiveCache much better than our system. It could be that
the patent was filed by the MojoNation guys, in which case it does not matter
since MojoNation was released under GPL which gives us the right to do
whatever. Or it was filed by someone else, in which case MojoNation (at that
point widely published) is prior art (and actually fits the bill much better
than the GNet/GNUnet).
3) IANAL, but I am *really* not worried. Let them pay their lawyers and let
us hack. :-)
