I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the topic at hand, but I thought I'd 
mention that the gnue tools support both a system-wide gnue.conf and a 
user-level gnue.conf. The user-level one overrides the system-wide one. I 
*think* it resides in ~/.gnue/gnue.conf, but would have to verify.
