Hello,
recently one problem, concerning i18n (internationalization) of .gfd forms,
appeared.
Currently i18n is realized via .po & .mo files, for all labels, menus, messages
and etc. At first from code source .po file is made, then it is translated and
.mo file with translation is compiled. Then, on user computer, according to
computer locale, required .mo file is loaded. The problem here is the following
- how can i i18n the form i yesterday made (this is real-world situation).
Possible solution would be the following. We could add section <translations
language="">....</translations> (or something like that) to .gfd file. Every
label (string) from .gfd form would be looked up in this section (something
like <string id="bla bla in English">translation here in German</string> for
example). If string in <translations> is found, according translation would be
loaded from this section. Then label would be displayed on a screen.
However, this solution probably is not the best solution, so please, criticise
it! :)
Thank you,
