If so, then that's a bug - a lot of Microsoft's programs have quite bad
user interfaces. GNOME strives to be better than that.
Since Evolution was brought up - it is true that the current UI was
designed to emulate Outlook as much as possible, for sundry marketing
reasons. However the Evolution team has finally decided to fix this,
