The Sunplus Technology thing is from my optical mouse.

drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: This device cannot do calls on its own. It is
no modem.
cdc_acm 2-1:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device

What does this mean? Does that mean my Nokia 6100 does not have a modem?

I am afraid you need pl2303 based cable to make sure it works with Linux.
