wodim/cdrkit *is* free for use as of version 5.1.0 final
5.1.0~pre4 (which the bug is opened against) is *not* free.

Debian (4.0) has 9:1.1.2-1
Ubuntu (7.04) 9:1.1.2-1
So both our upstreams have the same version in their latest stable
