Thanks for your offer to help gNewSense. The irssi bug [1] happens on
all architectures. The reporter was probably just using mipsel when he
found it.
The bug report already has a patch attached. To produce a fully derived
modified package, it will also need some changes to files in the
debian folder. Our packaging guide [2] tells you how to do that.
