Exactly. I think this is really doable in the short term (i.e. a week or so from now) if we have a good plan. Implementing it will be tedious (unless someone is a real sed wizard), but the real challenge is to work out the best approach.
I'd love to see the core lib be fully reentrant, as I'll need that for Cygnal to handle server-side ActionScript. I'm pretty good with sed and shell hacking, what exactly were you thinking of ?
