If I were you I'd find out what causes the crash before jumping to
conclusions. As I said, you are welcome to revert the hwaccel changes
and implement it better (or even leave it as it was), but I think you'll
find the crash is unrelated to those changes. This is trivial for you to
test by using the revert capability of bzr.

A more likely cause is that the GnashImage class changed, and the vaapi
code rather inadvisably uses a subclass of GnashImage. I adapted the
GnashVaapiImage without being able to test it.
